The Goodman Speakers community outreach program, GOODworks kicks off, and we’re so excited to launch it with Pride month. One of our staff members will select an important cause or charity for the team to partner with and help in a variety of ways, either through advocacy, outreach, community projects, donations, and events.
We believe small actions are the foundation of good, the building blocks of positive change, and the cornerstone of community. Everyone on the Goodman team is encouraged to step up and improve our local communities that matter most to them, whether it’s running 5k’s for causes, serving on a board, helping with food drives, building houses and everything in between.
It was fun and rewarding to partner with the Gay and Lesbian Hartford Collective (GLHC) this month to help with their Queer Prom and contribute to their ongoing food drive.
Theresa Ferron, one of our event manager’s shares why her organization of choice is so important to her.
“The rights of the LGBTQ community have always been important to me. This being PRIDE month, I thought it would be a perfect time to raise some awareness as well as help out with a local LGBTQ organization. I’ve worked with the Gay and Lesbian Hartford Collective East a few times in the past, and they are such a caring and involved organization- it just made sense to volunteer our services & time to them! Although this isn’t my first time working with them, I have to say it was by far the most rewarding experience to participate in Queer Prom 2018. It was unbelievable to see over 200 teens that have never met embrace each other with open arms. I left that night with a full heart and hope for their future.”
We’re proud to give back to our communities and weave our beliefs into our company culture.
