Bruce Pfau Profile
A member of KPMG`s 10 person Management Committee, Bruce joined the firm as Vice Chair, Human Resources in 2004, bringing more than two decades of leadership and experience in the field. Leading a team of more than 700, Bruce is the firm`s Chief Human Resources Officer, responsible for all HR activities including HR strategy and planning; compensation, and benefits; recruiting; training; diversity; succession planning; and performance management.
In April 2011, Bruce was also named Vice Chair, Communications, with responsibility for the firm`s internal and external communications.
During his tenure, KPMG has been recognized with the prestigious Catalyst Award, and ranked among FORTUNE`s 100 Best Companies to Work For; Working Mother magazine`s 100 Best Companies for Working; and DiversityInc`s Top 50 Companies for Diversity.
Prior to joining KPMG, he served as National Practice Director at Watson Wyatt Worldwide, a managing director with the Hay Group and a Vice President of Human Resources Effectiveness for The Dun & Bradstreet Corporation.
Bruce is a recognized thought leader in the areas of organization effectiveness, HR strategy, workforce engagement, culture change, and organizational metrics. He has authored numerous books and papers on aligning HR to financial performance including "The Human Capital Edge: 21 People Management Practices Your Company Must Implement (or Avoid) to Maximize Shareholder Value". He is profiled as one of America`s 50 top executive coaches in The Art and Practice of Leadership Coaching.
With a BS form Tufts University and a PhD, in Psychology, from Loyola University in Chicago, he is a past member of the board of directors of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
